"Breeder Talk"
Here's a comment on the Heinz ad from a reader at the Huffington Post:
I must protest. No gay man would call his lover sweet cheeks. That's breeder talk.
Reading comments around the blogosphere, it's really depressing to see how many people express their lack of alarm because the commercial is so "wholesome."
Earth to morons: that's the POINT.

The "wholesome" disguises the poison. If they looked Al Pacino in Cruising, then people would be up in arms. This is much less 'offensive,' thereby exponentially more dangerous.

Ellyn: Well put. How have we gone from a demand for "tolerance" to a demand for "celebration"? We've lost the PR battle on what's normal and wholesome.
I think it's because the pro-same-sex marriage crowd is a lot more vocal and a lot more demanding and a lot more effective. And I'd feel a whole lot better if I didn't feel like our side has surrendered. We have gay "activists" on one side and right-wing "zealots" on the other.
I pay over $25,000 a year that I can't afford for Catholic education for three kids, the oldest is at the Naval Academy, we don't own a TV and I still feel outnumbered and outmanned and beaten. And having Mahoney as our leader, I don't even think he's on my side.
BTW, if Heinz was just doing a clever "feels like a deli" commercial, the person leaving for work would have been a working mom.

With gay activism breaking out all over following the recent Supreme Court ruling in California, it's getting hard to keep up with all of the insanity.
A word to catechists, bishops, lay faithful everywhere: an ounce of prevention is worth 32 ounces of ketchup.
