Here's our cabin in (not enough) snow. They're calling for more, but it looks pretty sunny outside right now. Despite the sun, the thermometer reads 10 degrees and the local weather report says it's -6 with the wind chill factor.
Meanwhile, back in Florida, frost warnings and a chance of snow flurries (yes, that's what I said) in Daytona Beach. Citrus growers are not happy. Neither is my husband, who has spent the last year landscaping our very large yard, and all his hard work is about to die a speedy and ill-timed death.
Being a true Scottish southern belle (yes, I know Scarlett was Irish), I will worry about that tomorrow. Actually, I'll worry about it the day after we get back home.

No, Karen, it's NOT cold outside, remember what Uncle Al says "it's getting warmer, warmer, warmer......" repeat after me..."It's getting warmer"

Apropos Sean's comment, in the Dec. 24 Washington Times, geophysicist David Deming quoted a Canadian GreenPeace spokesman thusly: "Global warming can mean colder, it can mean drier, it can mean wetter."
It must be exciting to be part of a movement in which every possible outcome constitutes a confirmation of your movement's correctness.

I just keep remembering when I was in the 7th grade and the "next ice age" was going to wipe out any chance of my ever attending my high school prom.
And then there are the babies I had twelve years apart -- the first one was going to die from SIDS if I didn't put her down on her stomach to sleep. Twelve years later, the second one was going to die of SIDS if I didn't put him down on his back...
Can you even imagine if the Old Testament prophecies had a track record like "science" does?
