Campus Magazine Online has announced the winners of the 2007 Campus Outrage Awards and with great pride I'm here to tell you that William & Mary won top honors. Yes Virginia, it is possible to beat UC Berkeley in this showdown! They had to settle for second place.
So Tribe, let's wear our feathers with pride today. Oops. Can't do that, our feathers are gone. Well, nevermind, that's how we won the award. No wait, that didn't even make the list.
Of course we won for removing the offensive brass cross from our 300 year-old Christian chapel. But don't worry, the judges didn't fail to mention the Valentine's Day Sex Workers Art Show -- which pushed the Vagina Monologues back a few weeks, out of synch with that great VD tradition at other American universities. No worries, since it was for such a good cause. And neither date interfered with the annual Lambda Alliance Drag Ball.
Did I ever mention that I went to UVA for grad school? Mr. Jefferson's School. They have a cross in their chapel, no sex workers that anyone brags about, and they even have sports teams!
Oops...a little googling reveals that they also have the Vagina Monologues and a Drag Ball.
I don't suppose there are any Jesuit universities left with no Drag Ball/Vagina Monologue type events and a good long distance degree program? In answer to your next question: yes, I do believe in miracles.

Great post! I followed your lead and included a H/T. Good going!
